Let me explain what I mean by that. We live in an environment of boundaries. Those boundaries are everywhere and they are comprised of the elements of God's creation.
When God created... well, everything, He did it in a way that limits things. The laws of Physics were established by Him at the creation, along with the various elements, like light and matter. (Think of the chart of elements.) He established spacial dimension, time and all mathematical possibility. Not to mention the spirit realm with the all of the angels.
Thinking about the greatness of God and the vastness of the universe just makes us feel like little specks of dust. God gathered up some of those specks of dust, and He made man out of it. Then He commanded man (man & woman) to procreate.
God created man, and He placed him within these boundaries which had been set up. Then He gave man a command not to eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. That also was a boundary.
So why all these boundaries. Well with the universe being so large and dangerous, if God didn't set boundaries for us, we would hurt ourselves. So He did it out of love for us. There is no telling what kind of trouble mankind would've gotten into if there were no boundaries placed on us. I mean look what trouble mankind has done with the boundaries in place!
So, we are limited in our thinking and our understanding of the things of God. Some people deny being limited, but it is just a fact of reality. Sin limits us even further.
"But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned." -1 Corinthians 2:14
Sin has limited mankind to the point where he goes on living in separation from God, and therefore becomes programmed or brainwashed into wrong thinking. From this ungodly type of thinking he establishes religion which is his sinful way of trying to find his creator God. But with false man-made religion all fallen man has done is try to create a boundary for God. Or,...a box. Now with the man-made box of false religion, man continues to live on in a sinful condition trying to find his creator God. I call it a box because usually false religion tries to "control" God, and tell Him who He is, putting Him in a box.
The only true way that sinful man can overcome these boundaries is through Faith. If we put our faith in His Son Jesus Christ, we shall be saved!
"8For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
9Not of works, lest any man should boast." -Ephesians 2:8,9
With our culture making all kinds of movies about venturing through space, breaking the distance barriers, And dreaming about time travel, (which are just boundaries set in place by God), Maybe we can come to recognize why God established these limits for us. Then we could humble ourselves before Him, and trust and look to Him for fulfilling or healing all of those boundary breaking desires.
