1 Corinthians 13

"1Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.
2And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.
3And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.
4Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,
 5Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;
 6Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;
7Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.
8Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.
9For we know in part, and we prophesy in part.
10But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.
11When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.
12For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.
13And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity."  -1 Corinthians 13

New video feature added to WordofTruth blog!

I just added a new Vodpod video widget to this WordofTruth blog! This is a good change for this blog because now there will always be something new for people to watch here. Lately I have not been posting daily like I did for the first month of this blog's existence. I have had to concentrate on another area of my life for now. As the author of this blog I currently have to cut down on my posting frequency. But having some good video's should make up for some of that. The video's I will select will be ones that will express the Truth in the best way possible. I love these video's. Sometimes you can communicate things better through a video that is done well, than through an article. Some people don't want to spend the time reading, and for them I have the video's now.

Another change to the blog is the elimination of the Blogfrog widget's. That originally was put on this site to bring traffic. It has not done it's job very well, and so I removed it along with a few other links that changed since being here. Sometimes you can post a link from another site, and then they change their content to include things I don't want linked to this blog. So the best thing is to remove it altogether.

Hopefully all of you visitors and readers will enjoy the changes and continue to come back for more. I appreciate each of you, and am glad that you have visited my blog. Thank you!

Matthew 5:1-12

1And seeing the multitudes, he went up into a mountain: and when he was set, his disciples came unto him:

2And he opened his mouth, and taught them, saying,

3Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

4Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.

5Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.

6Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.

7Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.

8Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.

9Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.

10Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

11Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.

12Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you. -Matthew 5:1-12

God is Faithful & True !!

God is faithful and True!

...And that's why we praise Him.

When we are down and out, He is there to call on.

He is there listening and waiting for us to look to Him.

He is always waiting for us, so He can guide us through whatever it is that competes for our attention in this life.

When we fall, He helps us up! When we are down we can look to Him.

What does praising God do for us? It connects us with Gods presence.

"But thou art holy, O thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel." -Psalm 22:3

Praise the Lord! I will look to Him.

The more we praise Him, the better our life becomes. The more we give Him our praise, the more His presence fills our heart and our life.

He has always been faithful to me. He leads me out of darkness. And He gives me His Truth.

It's a praise day! ...so I'm praising Him!

Praise the Holy name of the Lord!

Psalm 91

Psalm 91

"1He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.

2I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.

3Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.

4He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.

5Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;

6Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.

7A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.

8Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked.

9Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation;

10There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.

11For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.

12They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.

13Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet.

14Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.

15He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.

16With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation." -Psalm 91

Luke 6:20-38

"20And he lifted up his eyes on his disciples, and said, Blessed be ye poor: for yours is the kingdom of God.

21Blessed are ye that hunger now: for ye shall be filled. Blessed are ye that weep now: for ye shall laugh.

22Blessed are ye, when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you from their company, and shall reproach you, and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of man's sake.

23Rejoice ye in that day, and leap for joy: for, behold, your reward is great in heaven: for in the like manner did their fathers unto the prophets.

24But woe unto you that are rich! for ye have received your consolation.

25Woe unto you that are full! for ye shall hunger. Woe unto you that laugh now! for ye shall mourn and weep.

26Woe unto you, when all men shall speak well of you! for so did their fathers to the false prophets.

27But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you,

28Bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you.

29And unto him that smiteth thee on the one cheek offer also the other; and him that taketh away thy cloak forbid not to take thy coat also.

30Give to every man that asketh of thee; and of him that taketh away thy goods ask them not again.

31And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise.

32For if ye love them which love you, what thank have ye? for sinners also love those that love them.

33And if ye do good to them which do good to you, what thank have ye? for sinners also do even the same.

34And if ye lend to them of whom ye hope to receive, what thank have ye? for sinners also lend to sinners, to receive as much again.

35But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil.

36Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful.

37Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven:

38Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again." -Luke 6:20-38

What will heaven be like? (Part 4)

This is the final and Part 4 of the last few posts entitled:  What will heaven be like?
If you haven't read the previous posts, you may want to by scrolling down and starting with Part 1 so that you don't miss out on anything.  This post today is going to be scriptures that deal with the kingdom of heaven.

"1At the same time came the disciples unto Jesus, saying, Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?
2And Jesus called a little child unto him, and set him in the midst of them,3And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.
4Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven." -Matthew 18:1-4

"Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven." -Matthew 5:3

"From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand." -Matthew 4:17

"But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you." -Matthew 6:33

"Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God." -John 3:3

"And Jesus said, I am: and ye shall see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven." -Mark 14:62

"11And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.  12His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself.
13And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.
14And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.
15And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.
16And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS." -Revelation 19:11-16

These last verses sum up what heaven is all about. It is about Jesus the Son of God! He is our Lord and savior! He is our everything. He is the doorway to heaven. He is the only way, the truth, and the life. All praises be to Him!  He is our access to God the Father and heaven itself.  When we go to heaven we won't be thinking of ourselves and our needs. We will be thinking of God all the time. Our attention will always be fixed on Him, worshiping Him forever.

There are many more scriptures about heaven. I would have to write and post almost the whole bible if I put it up here. These are some of the greatest scriptures to meditate on though in order to renew the mind. I encourage you to pick up the bible, and do a search. Look up all the scriptures about heaven. And you will see all the spiritual edifying you will go through reading and praying God's Holy Word.

Thank you again for reading!  And have a blessed day in the Lord today in Jesus name!

What will heaven be like? (Part 3)

If this is your first time here to this blog, you can see that in this post title it says (Part 3). For the first parts 1 & 2 just scroll down a bit to the previous posts to read them. And that way you can do it in order.

It is my hope that as you are reading these posts about heaven and what it will be like, that you are able to get some sort of picture in your mind of it.  For me when I think on these things, the Holy Spirit shows up in my mind giving me the encouragement that I need to continue pressing on.

"Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things." -Philippians 4:8

Writing, reading, or thinking about these things in these posts is a practicing of the above scripture in Philippians chapter 4. This is probably one of the healthiest things we can do for our brains!

Now to continue about heaven. Where I left off in the previous post was the part about the fruit in heaven. The fruit in heaven will be like spiritual food. We will not eat to satisfy hunger pains but rather for enjoyment. To eat one fruit will fill us with joy. Another fruit will fill us with peace, another with love, and so on. The bible doesn't say this specifically, but I personally do think that the fruit or food there will have some significant benefit to us besides the ordinary satisfying of the flesh that we are used to in this life.

"And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever." -Daniel 12:3

It's amazing how many scriptures there are in the bible concerning what heaven will be like. The above scripture makes me wonder if we will be able to travel to the stars in the universe. It is heaven after all. And I think natural man has always had a desire to travel through space. Could it be God who gave us that desire? Could it be that is what He intended for us to do in eternity?  Perhaps we will each have our own planets to share. We may spend time exploring the new universe and planting gardens on these other worlds? All we can do is look at what the scriptures say about it and speculate.

"But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him." -1Corinthians 2:9

There are many things in God's Holy Word that may be a mystery to us. But the main key to unlocking those mysteries is having a relationship with the Holy Spirit. He is the one who reveals to us these mysteries.

"But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city." -Hebrews 11:16

"And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband." -Revelation 21:2

The book of Revelation chapter 21 gives us a good description of this city from heaven. Some people will try to say it is merely symbolic. But the description in the bible says that an angel measured it giving it physical properties and dimensions. This city of God is absolutely astounding in it's beauty as described in the bible. It has walls 214 feet thick made out of precious stones and pure gold. The walls are translated to be 1500 miles long by 1500 miles wide by 1500 miles high!  That is a big city indeed. There are 12 gates to the city each made out of pearl. It has streets of gold and a river of life running through the middle. It may sound hard to believe now while we are living on earth, but this place is true and is heaven. This is where all the believers in Jesus will spend eternity with God.

Just think, a million eons from now, we will be there still rejoicing and celebrating and enjoying God's loving presence forever. I believe that God has plans for us far into eternity that he has never revealed to anyone yet. Not even the apostles or anyone in heaven knows yet what God is going to do. Millions of eons from now we will be in celebrations with God doing new and exciting things that He has planned for us.
